The chamber music series “die andere saite” was performed between 2006 and 2008, organised by Konstantia Gourzi in the Munich Camera Artis gallery.

The Project

Members of ensemble oktopus from the Munich Hochschule performed concerts called “die andere saite”, a play on words in German between andere Seite, “the other side”, and andere Saite, “other string.”

The aim of the series was to perform new music in unusual spaces. Excellent young soloists gave monthly chamber concerts, surrounded by changing visual arts exhibitions, and with exciting programmes orientated around a beautiful sound. Works by composers such as Bruno Maderna, Toru Takemitsu, Philipp Glass, Harald Genzmer, Franghis Ali-Sade and Jesús Rueda were all performed. The more than twenty concerts were an interesting experience for curious listeners, who wanted to discover a new side to music.
