Composition, artificial intelligence and the battle for creative freedom.
Shownotes by Auf einen Ton
Between tradition and the future: composing in transition.
In this podcast from the Tonkünstlerverband, you can listen to conversations with interesting people from the Bavarian music and culture scene. Today we are looking forward to exchanging ideas with two exciting guests. The first is composer and conductor Konstantia Gourzi, who also holds a professorship at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich, and Johannes Schachtner, composer and conductor from the south of Munich, who has already composed for the Bavarian State Opera. A warm welcome!
The overarching theme of this episode is that Konstantia Gourzi and Johannes Schachtner talk about topics that composers are concerned with. In conversation with Laura Wachter, the two talk about their very personal rituals in their everyday work. They will also discuss the status of female readings in music, especially in classical music. To what extent will artificial intelligence influence or even replace future compositions? Ms Gourzi and Mr Schachtner share their views and personal opinions on the subject of royalties and alternative sources of income as well as the promotion of young talent. The latter relates to the discussion on the political decision to make cuts in the area of creative subjects, and we hope you enjoy today’s episode!
